Build a DIY Recording Booth for your Home Studio

Since I have started recording artists and vocalists, I have tried different combinations of rooms sizes, anti-reflection pads, carpet floors, marble floors, etc. Their acoustics had their charms and utilities. Although noise level was always a problem around my personal recording rooms when it came about to record singers as I was looking for well polished vocal sounds to integrate my production.

One day I woke up with the great idea in mind to create my own recording booth for my home studio and cancel unwanted noise level problems for ever. I first started to think about a few factors before buying the material needed. Space is always a problem in home studios, I knew that my booth would have to be relatively small but should be well insulated due to its size and should also have minimum amount of space for the artist to be comfortable when standing up. Also supply for air and cables was an issue think about be-forehand. Air in the both would be jeopardised after a few minutes of recording due to its maximal inner insulation. I knew by experience that vocalists could easily stay more than 10 minutes inside a recording booth, but I’ve put to side the air factor problem as I could easily ventilate the place. I also planned to make a hole approximately 3cm wide at the bottom of the booth for audio XLR cables, electricity cables and much more if needed. I then made my list of things to buy. As soon as I had all materials ready I placed my camera to film the whole process through timelpase technique. It took me three afternoons to build, insulate and install the gear.
